FAQ's
How long will it take to groom my dog?
Appointment time will vary depending on the service and how busy the salon is on any particular day. Small dogs will take approx 1.5 hours from drop off. Medium Dogs will be approx 1.45 hours. Large dogs will be 2 hours approximately. Please let us know in advance if you wish to collect your dog by a certain time of day and we will do our best. We will text you once your dogs groom is complete and they are ready for collection. Please do not come back before you have been contacted as this can make your dog unsettled and excited. If we deem the groom too dangerous for us to continue the full groom price will be charged - this can also be the case even if you decide to wait in the carpark as your dog can often distinguish the sound of your car engine. Can I stay while my dog is groomed? Due to health and safety reasons with the small size of our salon we do not allow owners to stay whilst their dog is groomed. Most dogs will also settle better and bond with us as groomers more once the owner has gone. When we groom a dog, we connect with the dog in a way that allows us to both respect and understand each other. This is harder to do when the dogs favorite person (You) is present What if my dog is matted? We are a comfort over vanity salon and will not brush out and de-matt coats that are not maintained. We are happy to provide information on brushing techniques, grooming schedules and tools to help you in future. If your dog is matted there will be an extra fee due to the wear and tear on our equipment as well as the extra care and time needed to groom a matted or knotty coat Pawfection Grooming will not be liable for any after-grooming effects of de-matting, clipping or brushing procedures, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat including, but not limited to, skin redness, itchiness, or self-inflicted irritations from excessive external scratching or rubbing. Please refer to our T&C's for more information How can I cancel or reschedule my appointment? Unfortunately, in the past, we experienced a significant amount of "no shows" or very late cancellations. We give out appointment cards, send email confirmation and reminders as well as text reminders to allow for clients to let us know if they cannot make it. We understand that things come up last minute and we do believe that we are understanding of certain situations where it cannot be helped. With that being said, "no shows" or cancellations can leave us unable to fill a spot and as a small business, this has a profound impact. We are now left with the only option being to introduce and apply fees for cancellations and "no shows". To Cancel or Reschedule An Appointment: 48 hours given: No Charge Cancellation is within 48 hours of the appointment, the fee will be: 1st appointment: 50% of the groom per dog 2nd appointment: the full cost of the groom 3rd appointment: the groom will need to be pre-paid. No shows and lateness where we can no longer accept the dog, (15 minutes or more), will incur the above fees. Fees will need to be paid in full BEFORE the next groom can be scheduled. We do not enjoy implementing this however it is necessary to keep our business operating. |

Pricing & Groom DurationOur advertised price is based on dogs on a regular grooming schedule whose coats are maintained as advised by our groomers, prices may vary due to this. Dogs who don't understand the stillness required for a safe grooming experience or require extra time and care from your groomer to complete their service may incur an extra fee on top of the base price. Groom times vary based on your groomer, the size of your dog, and the detail needed for your chosen style, however, we will advise an approximate completion time when you drop your dog off and if this changes greatly, you will be notified via text.
On completion of your dog, we will advise via text (unless another method has been specified). Please do not come into the salon before you receive a notification that your dog is ready to go! This may cause your dog to become excited. An excited pet can be dangerous to work on, and we reserve the right to end the grooming session even if the groom is not complete and the full price will be charged.AccidentsAlthough accidents are very rare, there is a risk when working with live animals. Although we use extreme care in all situations, grooming equipment is sharp and possible accidents can occur (including but not limited to): cuts, nicks, scratches, or quicking of the nails. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified on collection of your dog unless in case of an emergency.Owner's AttendanceFor the safety of your pet, our staff, and yourself, owners are not permitted to be present during grooming. When grooming your dogs, as groomers we try to create a bond and an understanding between dog and groomer. This is very difficult for us to create when the dog's favourite person (You!) is in the room also.
Remember: Dogs are very in tune with our emotions, so if you or your dog are anxious about the grooming process, take a big deep breath before exiting the car and entering the salon
